We would like a student to analyze our dataset, apply standard analytics, and create 3D visualizations.
This will involve:
- Conduct background research on our existing product and the dataset provided.
- Conduct research into the latest data analysis tools, methods, and applications.
- Developing a dashboard style program to provide insights on datasets collected, and 3D visualization.
- Create a workflow for cloud data backups.
Project steps required:
- Create a python program to collect data from sensor data (raw sensor data will be provided)
- Create a method for data storage
- Create a workflow for cloud data storage/backup
- Create a python program to display/visualize data
By the end of the project, students should submit a final report (along with any source materials such as code, workbooks, etc) that demonstrates:
- The dataset which is collected
- Data visualization methods
- Cloud data storage method
- Methodologies and approaches to dashboard creation
- Outcomes and results
- Providing source code in a proper software development environment as applicable
- Recommended next steps for our organization
Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:
- Current product understanding
- Current data set and guidance in navigating it
- Current industry standard approaches to data collection, analysis and visualization
- Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter
- (Optional) opportunities for in-person data collection and experimentations
About the company
We are a startup incubated at the Design Fabrication Zone at Toronto Metropolitan University. Our team is comprised of license RPAS Advanced UAV Pilots as well as technical experts in mechanical and aerospace engineering, and manufacturing. We design, manufacture, and fly highly customized UAVs for a variety of applications from package delivery to data collection. Our goal is to be able to provide our customers with a tailored data analysis of their location through the use of modern technological advancements.
