Are you interested in getting into editing? Are you a fine-details person who cares about words, language, expression?

I'm looking to hire and train a part-time co-op student to work in academic editing. I'll provide you with materials to learn about copyediting, structural editing, and stylistic editing, and I'll train you using examples of academic writing in the health sciences, humanities, social sciences, and education. You'll learn tools and techniques to help you to make writing more clear, efficient, and persuasive. You'll also get really good at formatting using APA 7th edition!

In addition to editing work, I may also ask you to be involved in developing training materials, performing market research, updating a blog, doing some administration, and drafting copy.

This role will involve an extensive training period. Expect to do a lot of reading, writing, and summarizing during the training period.

• experience editing is an asset but is not required

Hours of work: 20 hours per week: 8 hours on Fridays, throughout the eight month work term, with the remaining 12 hours scheduled in conversation with your supervisor.

Project C: provide editing support in the development on an online module on the topic of content marketing. Work with external contractors to develop an eCommerce platform for a website.

Weekly meetings with supervisor. Detailed training and support in copyediting, structural editing, and stylistic editing. Details feedback on work.
