The Client

The Big Leaf is a management consulting firm. The team is launching a new venture called Panion, a play on the word Companion.

Panion.ca and MyPanion.com (in the USA) is a platform that makes the lives of Care Workers and their Clients easier, safer, and more reliable than alternative methods such as agencies.

The Background

We recognized from talking to our friends and family, that care workers are not ideally matched with their clients, often miss meetings, often have to drive great distances to reach their next client, are often underpaid, do not receive the option to purchase or earn benefits or pensions, and do not have insurance. This led to a loss of value for both the care workers and their clients as injuries, missed appointments, language barriers, and mistakes increased in numbers.

We knew that we can do better, so we designed Panion! Panion matches care workers and clients based on meaningful factors.

The Idea

Clients and Care workers create profiles and enter meaningful information that is then used automatically or manually to match one to the other. Traditional agencies match mostly on availability. With Panion, we can match based on meaningful factors such as Education, Expertise, Experience, Vaccinations, Languages, and Ratings (via our sister company KnowQuest.com).

Panion also offers Care Workers benefits, pension plans, and insurance; perks that they do not receive from most agencies. Lastly, Panion offers Care Workers more pay, only charging 15% for use of the platform, versus the average 30% those agencies take!

UVP: Better paid, more motivated, more valued care workers, that are better matched to their ideal clients. Fewer mistakes, fewer injuries, more value, more pay, and the peace of mind of insurance, pensions, and benefits. Panion is Care Evolved.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to help us at Panion, to help us better understand Long Term Care Homes, Retirement Residences, and similar organizations (including Not-For-Profits), as well as the health-care/insurance systems that pay Care Workers. We need you to develop a meaningful plan to work with, and provide our services to, those that can benefit the most from the Panion platform and its UVP.

You will be provided with one or more of our members (typically myself) to act as guide, mentor, and supervisor.
