Details

This project involves working in a small team to provide guidance and oversight for the UX/UI process for the below-described text analysis tool. Work will involve organizing facilitating a series of focus groups, analyzing and interpreting focus group feedback, and providing guidance to the web designer, to ensure that the final design is intuitive and easy-to-use.

Most online tools for analyzing writing aren't appropriate for the kind of writing that is published in peer-reviewed academic journals. No article in Nature or Science is ever going to written the way that hemingwayapp.com suggests is 'good.'

I'm an expert in academic writing: I have a PhD in poetry, and I write the monthly advice column Ask Dr. Editor for University Affairs. I know what to look for in academic writing, to make it more clear, concise, and compelling--and thus more likely to be published in a high-JIF journal.

I've secured help in developing an online tool similar to hemingwayapp.com, countwordsworth.com, writersdiet.com, or even the AI-powered VMock, which I can use to help researchers to identify ineffective writing strategies in their own work.
