Research gaps and funding opportunities to support 2SLGBTQI+ entrepreneurs, including population information in Ontario, entrepreneurs in the community, number of business centres and locations that specifically serve the community, and underserved individuals in the community. In addition identifying gaps and barriers 2SLGBTQI+ entrepreneurs when seeking financing supports, understanding engagement for 2SLGBTQI+ for youth 18-30yrs interested in entrepreneurship and funding for members of the community looking to start or scale a business.

Deliverables

Project activities will include:

  • Research and identifying gaps 2SLGBTQI+ for youth ages 18-30yrs and other intersecting demographics within the 2SLGBTQI+ community
  • Research and identify sensitive training on language and supports for the 2SLGBTQI community
  • Researching and identifying the gaps and opportunities for the sector who have limited access to financial resources to start a business.
  • Researching and analyzing funding sources including grants availability for entrepreneurs of the 2SLGBTQI+ community
  • Research on inclusive banking terminology when serving 2SLGBTQI+ entrepreneurs.
  • Competitive analysis on financial services offered by other financial institutions to 2SLGBTQI+ members looking to start or scale a business.
Mentorship

Supports for students will include: staff time, weekly check-ins with student, opportunity to present research findings to the team, knowledge or awareness of the 2SLGBTQI+
